The challenge:

Having a printer and a network that communicate smoothly is not something to be taken granted. Manufacturer-specific printer commands need to be aligned with the various different systems and software applications. Even if most systems today “speak” Windows, in many cases integration in non-Windows and Legacy systems (old systems) is essential – for example if your Telefax / Document Manager is to be operated in a heterogeneous network. Another demand made by many clients is perfect print quality from central servers without time-consuming and expensive modifications having to be made to the host application.

With Toshiba you can be absolutely sure that the print communication in your company will always run smoothly. So you don’t have to worry about a thing if you want to trade in your old printer for a new one, for example to upgrade from a dot-matrix to laser technology.

• You can integrate the Toshiba Telefax / Document Manager into your SAP R/3 system using the Toshiba SAP device type and at the same time profit from all the added features typical for these devices, such as stapling, hole punching, etc.

• Just as easily, the Toshiba Document Manager can be hooked up to your central server via an IPDS Converter Box. This way the implemented Toshiba configuration enables you to use the Telefax / Document Manager options. The converter box converts the IPDS data of the central server into PCL data, which the printer understands.

• Installation of the Toshiba Wireless Option enables you to equip the Document Manager with wireless functions. This way, your printing is done on the Document Manager without having to connect the machine by wire.

• Installing a Form Server gives you the benefits of state-of-the-art, appealing forms for your correspondence – without any complicated and expensive modifications to your host application.

• Additionally, you can access your Document Manager via the Linux / Unix system. This is made possible by the Toshiba PPD files, which “teach” manufacturer-specific printer commands to the software applications.
